Overview

Although 21st Century Insurance mainly focuses on auto insurance, they now offer Life Insurance as an alternative option. They have providing insurance for over 75 years but have only been offering life insurance for about 20 years.

However, if you are a citizen of one of these following states, then you do not have the ability to receive life insurance from 21st century:
AL, CT, DE, FL, GA, HI, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, SC, VT and WV.
If you are from one of these states, you can get life insurance through an non-affiliated life insurance provider called Matrix Direct Insurance Services. Essentially, 21st Century just brokers coverage out to another company.

Policies / Plans

The only life insurance policy 21st century offers is a term life insurance policy. The policy is available for 10 or 20 years and is portable. This means if you lose a job or stop working you will still be able to maintain and keep your policy. 21st does not provide any additional information about their life insurance products and is very vague about what it covers.

Pricing / Rates

Upon the same specifications used in all of the life insurance providers to receive a quote, 21st century was priced above average. The quote we received would have a premium payment of $404 which is much higher then other quality providers. Definitely, not an upside to using them.

Getting A Quote

Like many other providers, getting a quote was very simple. An easy form was presented to fill out and an instant quote was sent. It doesn't get much easier, but the price was just too high to even look at it any more.

Customer Service

Customer Service is neither good nor bad at 21st century. They have over 80,000 agents nationwide and agents in just about every state. However, almost none of these agents specialize in life insurance because it is not their specialty type of insurance to sell. When prompted via telephone, most 21st century agents played a phone transfer game and the question asked never really got answered to a satisfactory level.

While some people find it useful to get insurance from one company, it's recommended to stay away from 21st Century Insurance for life insurance. Auto Insurance is their specialty and they provide excellent coverage in that field but they lack much information and details which other insurance companies provide and offer. Just avoid them until they do a revamp of their system and go with a more renowned and reliable life insurance company.
